A Breakthrough and a Breakdown

I have to mention a breakthrough here. I have noticed some consistencies with Haleah these past couple of days. She is now consistently going to the potty without having accidents. And she woke up dry this morning and from nap. I would say she is pretty much close to being fully potty trained with going #1. Awesome! She is even venturing off to go to the potty herself, thank goodness!

Today Haleah was funny too. She kept looking at her sister and saying, "Kaelah! Kaelah! Whatever." I don't know where she got that. And she and Kaelah actually played nicely together today. For the most part there were not any smackdowns or pushovers. Naughty Corner was only used but once, I think. A breakthrough? A house record?

The breakdown occurred when my next door neighbor, Mary, brought over some warm fresh sweet bread from her oven and some ripe tomatoes. I was doing so well on my diet too. I ate the sweet bread--I should have never tried that first bite. Dang it! And then, because the tomatoes were so ripe, almost over ripe, I decided to make a homemade spaghetti sauce. Well, turns out I made the best daggum sauce I ever made. I couldn't get enough of my small little portion, so I kept adding small little portions to my plate at dinner. Foiled! I also believe I will never be able to replicate that sauce again, because I totally just winged it and came out spectacular! That's why I ate so much of it, I reckon.

We had brought the sauce over to Grandmama's house to eat so that David could fix her pump and filter on her pool. She had gotten a new one and we wanted the pool to be ready for our weekend pool and cookout festivities this Saturday. Something to look forward to...
