Cute Little Things

I thought it was so cute, yet confusing, to try and explain to a 2 year old why we "couldn't go to winter." That's right. While we were driving to the store today, Haleah told me that she wanted to go to winter "right now." When I tried to explain to her that we have to wait for winter and that winter must come to us, she cried.

Another gem on the ride (and this happens a lot) was when Haleah started telling Kaelah where we were going (even though she had no idea). She said, "Kaelah, we're going to Walmart and we're going to be good ghouls (aka. girls), okay?" And Kaelah just looked at Haleah all sweet and just said, "K." She probably had no idea what Haleah was talking about-- she just says, "K," for "okay." It's so cute. Kaelah goes along with anything and just adores her big sister so much.

Tonight while we were playing in the back yard, I told Haleah and Kaelah to go get the ball that had blown over to the fence. So there they went, venturing off together to get the ball as if it were a long, adventurous journey. They kept looking back at me to see if I was still there and if I was going to come. They were running in the long grass and I just watched and smiled at them thinking how cute and little they looked. I just love em to bits.

The final cute thing of the day (I thought) was when Kaelah innocently walked up to the cat (who was eating grass) with a bucket of water in her hand, and promptly dumped it onto the feline. It took a moment for the water to sink in through our fat cat's fur. But when it did, it was priceless to watch Perrin bolt away, and all of us were just giggling with delight. I saw the scenario unfolding long before it occurred, but I just let it happen. We love our cat, but she deserves a little excitement now and again, as do we all...
